That Which We Call A Rose……..
That Which We Call A Rose……..
Juliet said it first and best - “That which we call a rose. By any other name would smell as sweet.” Why am I quoting Shakespeare?
Because as sweet as it’s been, it’s time for a change. A program name change, that is.
A little over two years ago I was encouraged by a few clients and colleagues to start a regular accountability group. It was a small group to start with six people. I called it Path of Action - which is the framework I designed to get business owners into focused action.
Steps in the Original Path of Action Framework
Clarify your vision. Take a deeper look at what success means to you, and what you will have to do to achieve it.
Prioritize your goals. Put your goals in order of current impact to move forward in your business right now.
Create an executable action plan. Eliminate overwhelm by breaking your actions down into realistic steps, resulting in a roadmap you can follow to the goal post.
Implement processes & systems. Leverage your time, enhance your professional image, and create an extraordinary client experience.
Accountability to execution. Stay focused on your plan by keeping the right things front of mind to achieve your desired results.
I have run close to ten groups. Each one has taught me something new about business owners that helps me format the group program and hone in on what they need to actually achieve their goals.

What I’ve Added Along the Way
I noticed almost immediately that my clients had so many goals, they struggled to accomplish just one because they diluted their bandwidth by working on too many at a time. One of my first group members came to me with eight goals!
Ambitious? Yes! Realistic? Well….
It was a surprise to me that people would show up to the group without goals to work toward. I also realized that most of these visionary entrepreneurs thought they could conquer the world on their lunch break.
I knew I had to back up and add some prep work.
The first thing was a 1:1 90-minute strategy call. They needed that individual guidance on how to get clear on which goals were the right goals for them at that time.
They also needed some solid strategies to deal with things like procrastination, low energy days, and unexpected situations. Now I offer plenty of proactive strategies to keep them steady in their progress. And I share from my trusted, bottomless bank of resources for anything they want to delegate or need help setting up.
I keep adding to the Playbook we use. To go with the pre-work for the 1:1 session, they now do a reflection exercise that looks at the success and disappointments of the past 12 weeks so they can set themselves up for greater success in the next 12 weeks. There’s an area for brainstorming so they can figure out which areas of their business the chosen goals will affect.
And most recently I have added a weekly CEO Hour so they can get the following week in order, ready to start fresh Monday morning.
The group has evolved organically to so much more than when it started. Path of Action was more about getting people on a path, which is more about process. Now the group is about making real progress, propelling your business forward and getting results. The new group name is…(drum roll, please!)
Close the Gap
Closing the gap requires taking a plan of action and carrying it to the finish line by using strategy, preparation, implementation, and movement. Things you need to make real progress.
I can help you get to the other side of your goals, to eliminate the space between spinning your wheels and taking the leap to successful results. My next group is starting soon, so get the details here.
P.S. Ready to stop spinning in place and get to the other side of your goals? Here are several ways I can help:
