Stay Calm and Get Dubsado

Business owners have to make plenty of decisions about their systems. One big choice for me was to get Dubsado for organizing my client onboarding process. Dubsado is perfect for enhancing a variety of tasks in your service-based business. It has been an awesome solution for me, and I recommend that my clients use it as well.

You might keep contracts in Word, lead captures in a spreadsheet somewhere else, and invoices wherever. This means that if you remember where everything is, you have to scramble back and forth between locations to pull it together. And that’s only if you saved these things in the right place.

I decided to get Dubsado for my own business in 2020. Once it was set up, it made my process so much simpler. I feel confident in how it works, and it has added a level of professionalism to my business.

What the heck is it?

Dubsado is both a business management and client relationship management platform.

Depending on what else you use to run your business, you can integrate Dubsado with payments, your website, bookkeeping, scheduler, Zoom, email, and task management programs. And if there’s something you use that doesn’t connect with Dubsado, you can most likely connect it to Dubsado with Zapier.

Business Management Capabilities

Create proposals and contracts. Most business owners piece together their proposals and contracts by looking at those of business colleagues, or by copying and pasting from resources available on line. With Dubsado, you can choose a template, customize it, and send it off. It’s the type of efficient process business owners need.

Easily invoice clients. New business owners tend to agonize over how to bill clients professionally. When you get Dubsado you can connect it to your payment processor, like Stripe or Paypal. So you can create invoices, collect revenue, and set up automated reminders for late payments. And, there’s also a time tracker if you work by the hour or sell retainers.

Think through your discovery/proposal/onboarding process. Every project is unique in some way, and as you speak to your clients you’ll find out what is unique about their projects. Setting up your automated onboarding for each client requires some time to think about what each project needs from you, and what information and actions you need to provide results. It reminds you of what type of experience you want clients to have when they work with you.

Automations. These are like magic. Once you figure out your automated work flows, it will leverage a considerable amount of time for you to spend doing what you love.

Customization. Dubsado allows you to fully customize all documents and templates with your branding. You can even connect Dubsado to your email provider and send emails that appear to come from your email address.

Client Relationship Capabilities

Although Dubsado does not have a high-octane system like Pipedrive or Hubspot, it allows you to:

  • Capture and track leads

  • Schedule appointments

  • Create and imbed contact forms

  • Customize canned emails to clients

  • Utilize a client portal for all communications
